#Waste to Wealth - Mama Margaret’s ‘Waste for Chops Shop launched in Abuja


In a quest to create other medium for waste eradication especially plastic waste in Nigeria, the Director of ‘STOP DON’T DROP’ Ms. Adiza Ujo on Saturday 8th June 2019 launched ‘The Madam Margaret’s Waste for Chops Shop’ in Gwarimpa Community Village Abuja.

The 'Waste for Chops Shop' is to give value to plastic waste and it can be exchanged for rewards or money and helps lift people out of poverty by providing income and additional life-improving items and services. 

While speaking to our correspondence, Ms. Adiza said that ‘Madam Margaret’s Waste for Chops Shop will reveal the value in waste plastic and will help reduce national poverty while stopping plastic from degrading and polluting our environment’.

The event witnessed the presence of both national and internal dignitaries who expressed their joy noting that Ms. Adiza Ujo’s initiative will go a long way not only to reduce the level of plastic waste in Nigeria but also drag many out of poverty. They pledged to throw their weight behind the project to ensure that it gained the support it deserved. 

The elated Madam Margaret who the community members popularly call Margie expressed her gratitude to Ms. Adiza for finding her worthy of such huge empowerment as the shop will also help to raise funds for her family upkeep. 

A among the dignitaries at the launch are; Amb. Socalist Republic of Vietnam Mr. Pham Anh Tuan Deputy German Ambassador Mrs Regine Hess Deputy British High commissioner to Hyderabad Andrew Fleming Head of Legal and Consular Mr. Hanno Hille Second Secretary Embassy of Vietnam Mr. Nhat Thang Vu Mr. Jide from the Cans Sustyvibes Abuja Team, with the host of others who joined the Gwarimpa Village community at the launch of Madam Margaret’s Waste for Chops Shop.
